Learning Resources
There are times we all need a little help. From writing workshops, math tutoring, to study groups and counseling assistance, we offer a wealth of services to help you succeed at USD.
Academic Advising:
- Our professional counselors help you with general advising, academic procedures, academic probation and other questions you have.
Learning Specialist:
- The learning specialist can help you develop successful learning strategies and study skills, provide guidance on study habits, time management, math anxiety and more.
Supplemental Instruction (SI):
- SI utilizes peer-assisted study sessions to assist you with traditionally difficult first and second year courses.
Writing Center:
- Need help with writing? USD's Writing Center offers individualized help with any writing project.
Math Lab:
- The Math Department offers one-on-one and small group tutoring in all levels of math courses.
International Student Services:
- Student services, advising and cultural opportunities are coordinated by the Office of International Student Services.
TRIO - Student Support Services:
- TRIO provides tutoring, counseling and academic advising to those who are enrolled in the TRIO Student Support Services program.
Career Counseling:
- From choosing a major to crafting a killer resume and beyond, the Career Development Center will help you make your career happen.
Disability Services:
- Disability Services provides accommodations and support services to those who have any type of temporary or permanent disability.
University Libraries:
- The University's libraries offer a wide range of information resources held locally and worldwide. Subject Specialists who know your field can assist with your research.
First Call for Help:
- Sometimes personal issues like stress, grief, self-esteem and depression can get in the way of academic success. Counseling services are available by appointment or as a walk-in clinic.
