Learning - Outside the Classroom
Support a community agency, study in a developing nation or participate on a research team in a laboratory. Learning outside the classroom means gaining real-world experience, knowledge and skills from engaged, hands-on experiences.
Examples of Learning Experiences:
- Service‐Learning
- Study Abroad
- Undergraduate Research
- National Student Exchange
- Nationally Competitive Scholarships
Enrich your classroom education. We'll help you develop the kind of real-world understanding that sets you apart and adds value to your USD education.
Sarah Wittmuss, Director
Each year, USD students combine for more than 12,000 hours of service-learning projects. For Earth Day, students completed a community service project cleaning the Vermillion community garden.
