2011 Scholarship Winners

Nationally competitive scholarships are often hard to win, however, students from USD win one or more of these competitions virtually every year.  Each scholarship is nationally competitive.  Recipients are chosen based on essays, recommendations, GPA and other factors.  Standards are very high. 

In 2012, two scholars captured these hard-to-land awards:
Brock_Schardin

Brock Schardin, who completed his B.A. in Spanish in May 2010, received a grant from the prestigious Fulbright Program - the flagship international education exchange sponsored by the U.S. government. Schardin, a Marion, S.D. native, will put his Spanish language skills to use as he travels to Madrid, Spain to teach English. More>

 

Jennifer Dumdie

Competitive research leads to Goldwater Scholarship for Jennifer Dumdie. Dumdie, a native of Selby, S.D., is scheduled to graduate in May 2013. Recipients of the Goldwater Scholarship receive up to $7,500 per year to cover the cost of tuition, fees, books, and room and board. More>
