USD Affiliates
Affiliate Programs are offered by study abroad organizations and companies that have an official agreement with USD. Affiliates have been chosen for their commitment to academic quality, opportunities for cultural integration, and reputation for their close attention to student health and safety abroad.
Affiliate Organizations:
AIFS - American Institute for Foreign Study- Founded in 1964, AIFS offers study abroad opportunities in 24 international campus locations. They offer high-quality, college-level courses in subject areas as diverse as Islamic Studies, French Cinema, business and engineering.
- CCSA is a consortium of American colleges and universities, which offers study abroad programs and internships in English-speaking regions. Currently, CCSA has 23 member institutions in Alabama, Indiana, Kentucky, Mississippi, Ohio, Oregon, Pennsylvania, South Dakota and Tennessee.
- USD students who wish to participate in a CCSA program will actually enroll through South Dakota State University and should not submit applications directly to CCSA. To apply, contact the Coordinator for Global Learning.
- CEA Global Education provides college study abroad programs to American students in 14 countries and 24 cities across the globe.
- CET Academic Programs is a study abroad organization based in Washington, DC that has been designing and administering innovative educational programs abroad since 1982. Today, CET offers semester and summer study abroad programs in China, the Czech Republic, Italy, Japan, Jordan, Syria and Vietnam, as well as short-term, customized programs worldwide. CET is known for high academic standards, innovative approaches to teaching and careful student management.
- Since 1947, CIEE has been offering study abroad opportunities to students around the world in numerous countries on six continents.
- For more than a decade, CIS, the Center for International Studies, has been providing safe, challenging, life-changing study abroad experiences. The mission of CIS is to provide innovative education programs that broaden academic perspectives, promote global awareness, and encourage personal development while laying the foundation for participants to become engaged world citizens.
- The Study Abroad Program at Edge Hill University in Ormskirk, England is a short program for students who wish to study in the UK at Edge Hill University for one or two semesters. Students remain enrolled at their home institution and will achieve UK credit at the end of their studies at Edge Hill to transfer to their home institution degree program.
- ELAP, a subsidiary of ISA, was founded in 2002 as a way to encourage university students to go abroad, contribute to community development and experience profound interaction with local people and organizations. These programs provide participants the opportunity to gain valuable personal and professional experience while working with various organizations and non-profits.

- GlobaLinks offers education abroad programs for university/college students in numerous destinations worldwide. With more than 20 years experience, GlobaLinks Learning Abroad provides the most comprehensive services to prepare students for a successful abroad experience.
- International Studies Abroad is a study abroad provider with 14 destination countries that encompass 31 distinct and exciting cities. ISA has been providing quality study abroad programs for U.S. college students since 1987.
- ISEP is a network of 300 post-secondary institutions in the United States and 42 other countries cooperating to provide affordable international educational experiences for a diverse student population. Students may participate in ISEP-Exchanges which are reciprocal exchange programs in which each student pays the cost of an academic term (tuition, fees, room and board) at home while attending an institution overseas. ISEP-Direct programs are fee-based study abroad programs where students pay a fee to ISEP which covers the host institution's program cost.
- USD students who wish to participate in ISEP will actually enroll through South Dakota State University and should not submit applications directly to ISEP. To participate, students will first apply to USD and then be nominated to SDSU by the Coordinator for Global Learning.
- SIT Study Abroad programs examine critical global issues in a specific cultural and geographical context. Studying with host country faculty and living with families, students gain a deep appreciation for local cultures, develop language skills, and become immersed in diverse topics ranging from the politics of identity to post-conflict transformation, from global health to environmental policy.
- The University Studies Abroad Consortium has provided university students with quality study abroad programs for almost 30 years. USAC is a non-profit, university-based organization with 40 program locations in 25 countries.
- As part of our commitment to immersion, World Endeavors partners with local organizations for our volunteer and internship placements. Our volunteers are placed in projects run by local, grassroots organizations. The projects are ongoing and sustainable, and the work of our volunteers helps to support the efforts of community members. Our internship program places interns with local and global organizations. Interns work side by side with local workers for a professionally immersive experience, practicing their language skills and learning about local business culture.
