Environmental issues are not only of concern on the Great Plains. We are happy to provide teachers with links to several excellent web sites that can help your students understand environmental issues world wide. The Rainforest Workshop
A Rainforest education site with resources for teachers and students which includes Rainforest lesson plans. Developed by Virginia Reid and the 7th grade students at Marshall Middle School, in Olympia, Washington

National Wildlife Federation
A range of activities and resources for students of all ages. Includes their Animal Tracks program that contains units on People and the Environment.

Rainforest Action Network Kids' Corner
A number of action oriented activities for kids. The main Rainforest Action Network contains a wealth of rainforest information including material on tropical forest peoples.

Conservation International
Conservation International has a "field project" called The Changing Face of the Earth: Human Disturbance of Natural Habitats. Students will learn from its map just how much humans have modified their environments.
