Digging at the simulated excavation, 1997

Welcome to World Wide Web Archaeology
on the Internet!

So far in the Archaeology Unit, you've learned that archaeology is the study of past peoples and how they lived. Today, you will be using the World Wide Web or "web" to take archaeological site tours and learn more about archaeological expeditions in South Dakota and other parts of the world. You will also be able to learn more about the expert role you will be playing in your archaeology team.

How to move around on the Web

To use the web, move the mouse arrow to a blue "link." Links take you to other pages or places. Any words that are blue, surrounded by box, or underlined in blue are links. "Click" on the link with the left mouse button. You only need to click once. To move back to where you came from, move the mouse arrow to the arrows that look like cassette player arrows near the top. If you have problems, ask your teacher for help.

First, let's review some things you've already learned.
