The Cornerstone of Society

Communication is an everyday element of our lives-the cornerstone of society. Communication shapes our view of life: how we see, engage, and view our life experiences.

Communication Studies is the study of people's verbal and nonverbal communication within the contexts of interpersonal relationships, small groups, organizations, and public address.

The Department of Communication Studies offers an exciting and diverse curriculum integrating application with theory where the philosophy, practice, criticism and study of communication is emphasized and balanced.

We Offer

B.A. and B.S. degrees in three major areas of study:

  • Interpersonal Communication
  • Organizational Communication
  • Rhetoric and Public Address

Our Graduate Program offers the M.A. degree in Communication Studies with an emphasis on general or organizational communication. The M.A. program also includes preparation for doctoral work, and for teaching in the communication field at public school or college level.
