Bio:
Dr. McKay-Semmler is a native of Hill City, South Dakota. Her research interests are in intercultural communication, in particular, the role of interpersonal communication in the adaptation process. She is currently conducting research on the cross-cultural adaptation experiences of Hispanic youth in the Siouxland area. In addition, she is part of a team of researchers at USD working to understand the impact of immigration on South Dakota's rural communities.
