Why did you choose USD?

I saw USD as the university that would offer me many opportunities to grow and better myself.

What is your favorite part about USD?

It has many ways for students to be involved on campus and in the community.  There are many and various organizations for students to join. Through these organizations, I have been able to meet and work with a variety of students and staff.

What or who inspired you to choose your major?

I feel the world is dependent on communication. With a communication studies major, I am able to study and understand how messages and interactions influence life.

How is USD different than other schools?

USD is different from other schools because it is continually trying to create an environment that encourages students and staff to strive to be their best and better those around them. From the renovations of buildings to the creation of new academic programs to the support of student organizations, USD is determined to see growth and improvement.

What made a difference in your college experience?

Greek Life has made a huge difference in my college experience. I am surrounded by hard-working and determined women who set examples of values and standards to live by.

I am completing  the requirements to apply to medical school. The communication studies program does not specifically require science and math classes beyond the general USD curriculum. By taking classes in both science and communication, I have a well-rounded, liberal arts education. I meet and interact with a variety of students, as I have noticed the programs typically attract different students. While some see the separation between the programs, my experience leads me to feel the two programs can be related.
