Asai Asaithambi is a Professor and Chair of the Computer Science Department, and he has been with The U since 2004. He received his Ph.D. in Computer Sciences from The University of Wisconsin-Madison in 1985. Asai teaches Numerical Analysis and Artificial Intelligence. His research interests include Algorithms, Computational Science and Engineering, Interval Analysis, Numerical Analysis, Pattern Recognition, and teaching Computing Ethics. 

 

David Struckman-Johnson  David Struckman-Johnson

David Struckman-Johnson is a Professor of Computer Science, and he has been with The U since 1973. He received his Ph.D. in Human Factors Psychology from The University of South Dakota in 1973. Dave teaches Programming Languages, Computer Science 150, Research Methods, and Human Factors. His research interests include Human Computer Interaction, Introductory programming languages, and Research Methods.

Douglas Goodman is an Associate Professor of Computer Science, and he has been with The U since 1986. He received his Ph. D. in Mathematics from The University of Minnesota in 1980. Doug teaches Data Structures, Advanced Algorithms, Computer Graphics, Simulation, Programming Science, Realtime Systems, and Compiler Design. His research interests include Algorithms, Machine Learning, Simulation, Formal Methods, and CS Education.


Richard Mcbride Richard McBride

Richard McBride is an Associate Professor of Computer Science, and he has been with The U since 1988. He received his Ph. D. in Computer Science from Kansas State University in 1980. Rich teaches Operating Systems, Artificial Intelligence, Formal Languages, Programming Languages, and Distributed Systems. His research interests include Distributed Computing, Databases, Simulation, and Petri Nets

 Robert W. Wood was an Associate Professor of Computer Science and had been with The U since 1968. He received his Masters degree in Business Administration from The University of South Dakota in 1971. Bob taught Database, Web Development, Digital Media, and Software Design and Development.

Carol Lushbough is an Assistant Professor of Computer Science, and she has been with The U since 1997. She received her Masters degree in Computer Science from The University of South Dakota in 1991. Carol teaches Bioinformatics, Software Engineering, and Systems Analysis. Her main research interest is Bioinformatics.

Kai Wang is an Assistant Professor of Computer Science, and he has been with The U since 2006. He received his Masters degree at Shandong University in China in 1997 and received his Ph. D. in Computer Science from the University of Kentucky in 2003. Some of Kai Wang's main research interests are high performance computing, computational methods, and biocomputing.

Joe Reynoldson is the Research Computing Manager/Instructor for the Computer Science Department, and he has been with The U since 1994. He received his Masters degree in Computer Science from The University of South Dakota in 1997. Joe teaches Topics in Perl, Systems Management, and Web Development.

Doug Jennewein is a Research Analyst in Computer Science, and he has been with The U since 1998. He received his Masters degree in Computer Science from The University of South Dakota in 2004. Doug recently taught Computer

Brent Anderson is a Research Analyst in Computer Science, and has been with The U since 2004. He received his Master's Degree in Computer Science from The University of South Dakota in 2007. Brent's interest are in software engineering and web development.

 

Ruth Hessman  Ruth Hessman

Ruth Hessman is the Senior Secretary of the Computer Science Department, and she has been with The U since 1992. She supports all aspects of coursework in the department from scheduling to budgeting to technical support. Ruth is often the first person most students meet when visiting the department, and she's usually the person they see when they need assistance.
