Bio:
Miglena Sternadori has published in Feminist Media Studies, Journal of Media Psychology, Women's Studies in Communication, Newspaper Research Journal, Journal of Broadcasting & Electronic Media, Media Report to Women, Journal of Media Education, and Forum: Qualitative Social Research. She serves as the coordinator of USD's Women and Gender Studies program and the associate editor of the Journal of Magazine & New Media Research. Sternadori worked as a journalist for seven years, including five as an investigative reporter in Sofia, Bulgaria. She has covered government and business, including the controversial Bulgarian privatization, and is an alumna of the Missouri School of Journalism, where she first arrived in 2000 on a scholarship for Eastern European journalists.

Media effects, international communication, gender and media, writing and editing courses, theory and research methodology
Research Interests:
Stereotyping, gender issues in the media, newsroom routines, and cognitive processing of media messages
