Why did you choose USD?

It was the right fit for me. I felt welcomed as soon as I stepped on campus. The faculty to student ratio allows me to network with professors and enhance my education. Professors are able to call me by my first name and that makes me feel valued.

How is USD different than other schools?

USD is different from other schools in that it focuses on individuals. After visiting numerous universities in the area, I felt USD cared more about the success of the students.

Quote1_3I have always had an interest in the legal system.Quote2a_2
What inspired you to choose your Criminal Justice?

I have always had an interest in the legal system, especially criminal behavior and the causes of crimes. Moreover, I like the fact that the study of criminal justice allows for critical thinking as well as personal perspectives.

What specific programs/features are you/did you take part in that made a difference in your college experience?

The time I have spent volunteering with the USD Habitat for Humanity has allowed me to grow as a person while assisting those in need. The Criminal Justice Club provides me with opportunities to gain real-life insight into the criminal justice system beyond college. I feel that I have gained valuable knowledge beyond the classroom while attending and participating at USD.

What is your most inspiring class or professor?

My most inspiring class was the Introduction to Criminal Justice class I took my freshman year. Through Dr. Roche's lectures and varying approaches to criminal justice, my interest was advanced. I knew majoring in Criminal Justice was the right decision for me.

What are your plans after graduation?

I plan on law school or graduate school in the field of criminal justice.
