Prentiss Clark is Visiting Assistant Professor at USD. She is currently at work on a manuscript titled "Measures of Intimacy: From Skepticism to Ethics in the Writing of Ralph Waldo Emerson."
Teaching Interests:
American literature and culture (colonial through the early-twentieth century); the prose, poetry, and scholarly history of the mid-nineteenth century; literature and philosophy.
Research Interests:
American literature (especially nineteenth century); the ways in which literature and philosophy navigate questions vital to living examined human lives; genre study as a methodology for theorizing literary relationships.
