Teaching Interests:
Spanish and Spanish-American Literatures, Cultures and Cinema; Spanish Language; and Spanish for the Professions (health and law).
Research Interests:
The Nineteenth-Century Spanish realist novel, specifically, the construction of characters; The social and political history of Spain and their connection to cultural products such as literature, film and art; Interdisciplinary approaches to the European Nineteenth-Century; Spanish and Spanish-American cinema, with emphasis on marginal subjects and social stratification; Identity and social recognition in First Modernity Spanish literature; Feminine narrative voices in contemporary Spanish-American drama and short stories; and Otherness in Judeo-Latin American literature and cinema.
