The South Dakota World Languages Association (SDWLA), would like to invite you to participate in the annual SDWLA conference, which will take place October 14-16 in Custer, South Dakota at the Outlaw Ranch.
The SDWLA conference is the only available professional development opportunity in the state of South Dakota specific to language teaching. The conference offers breakout sessions in the form of presentations (45 minutes) and workshops (2 hours) provided by faculty from several universities in the state and other experienced teachers, language-specific business meetings and opportunities to network with other language professionals in the state. Attendance to the conference is offered as continuing education credit.
We secured a discount with the Outlaw Ranch for both the conference rooms as well as the accommodations. Note that, in addition to the block of rooms we reserved, there are also cabins available for families. The conference schedule is designed so nobody would have to miss more than one day of class, and, to encourage participation from a larger pool of teachers, we are offering a significant discount for first-time attendees.
The conference is an opportunity to learn about the newest trends and advances in the profession, and to become part of a South Dakota community of teachers who can share ideas and information. The conference will consist of instructor-led workshops and presentations. It will enhance teaching practices, assessments, current trends as well as issues in the profession. We cannot emphasize enough the benefits that attendance to the conference can bring to you and your students. Please encourage your colleagues - new and old - to join the SDWLA and to attend our conference.Register Now
