Ullyot Native Student Scholars Program
Glenn E. & Barbara R. Ullyot Lakota Scholarship This premier scholarship recognizes American Indian high school seniors who demonstrate strong academic potential. The full Ullyot Scholarship is valued at $20,000 over a four-year period. Recipients are required to maintain a minimum cumulative GPA of 3.0. Partial, one-time scholarships also are available to American Indian students who demonstrate a commitment to academic learning. The Ullyot Lakota Scholarship is administered by the Institute of American Indian Studies. Deadline Jan. 13.
Incoming and returning undergraduate and graduate students in any academic discipline are eligible for scholarship awards. These awards are renewable, based upon satisfactory performance. Awards are merit-based, but financial need may be considered. Scholarships are also available to Law School and Medical School students. Contact the schools directly for more information.
Prairie Island Mdewakanton Dakota Community Scholarship
This scholarship is available to Native Studies majors through a gift to the USD Foundation.
Maxine Henry Andrews Living Memorial Scholarship
The applicant must be in good academic standing with a GPA of 2.5 or higher and demonstrate financial need. Undergraduate and graduate students are eligible if registered as full-time students for the next school year.
Crazy Horse Memorial Foundation
The applicant must demonstrate financial need and academic potential. Undergraduate and graduate students are eligible.
Margaret Ellen Olmstead Ferguson Scholarship
The applicant must be in good academic standing with a GPA of 2.0 or higher. Undergraduate or graduate students are eligible.
Craig Furlet Scholarship
The applicant must be in good academic standing with a GPA of 2.0 or higher and demonstrate financial need.
Ethel E. Galloway Memorial Scholarship
The applicant must be registered as a full-time student during the next academic school year. Undergraduate and graduate students are eligible.
E.M. Swick Memorial Scholarship
The applicant must be accepted or enrolled and in good academic standing with a 2.50 GPA or higher. Undergraduate single parent students who are caring for their children while attending USD are eligible. Preference is given to members of the Oglala Sioux Tribe.
Cato Valandra Endowed Scholarship
The applicant must be in good academic standing with a 2.5 GPA or higher. Undergraduate junior or senior students who are registered as full-time students for the next school year are eligible.
Rosebud Yellow Robe Scholarship
The applicant must be enrolled and have a financial need for assistance with expenses such as child care, transportation, clothing, medical, dental, and other non-academic expenses. Undergraduate and graduate students are eligible.
Alvin R. Zephier, Sr. Scholarship
The applicant must demonstrate financial need and be in good academic standing with a 2.0 GPA or higher. Undergraduate and graduate students registered as full-time students for the next school year are eligible.
Phyllis L. Hickey Scholarship
The applicant must be a full-time student in good standing with the university.
