Steven H. Feimer is an associate professor and Director of Criminal Justice Studies. He received his undergraduate degree from the University of South Dakota in 1971, his Master of Public Administration from USD in 1982, and a doctorate in public administration from the University of Oklahoma in 1986. Dr. Feimer began his service in the department in 1986; prior to that, he spent 12 years in law enforcement.

Dr. Feimer's teaching interests are in the areas of research methods and public administration. Dr. Feimer also has an interest in computer-based simulation modeling, survey research, program assessment for state agencies and Geographical Information System (GIS). He has done extensive applied research and consulting work in juvenile justice, transportation, and corrections.

Dr. Feimer is a native of South Dakota. Other interests include scuba diving, climbing, sea kayaking and long distance bicycling.
