Avera Health eConsult Program Evaluation

The purpose of the evaluation is to assess what extent the program objectives have been met and to what extent these achievements can be attributed to the implementation of the project. The evaluation will include both quantitative and qualitative metrics.

Evaluation of the Health Resources and Services Administration (HRSA) Rural Health Outreach Grant

The GRB will provide an external evaluation for the USD Department of Dental Hygiene over a three year period. The GRB will develop a satisfaction survey for the parents of school age children in the grant service area. Approximately 6000 surveys will be distributed and the GRB will conduct data analysis and prepare a written report at the end of the grant period.

Evaluation of the South Dakota Corporation for National and Community Service (SDCNCS) Project

The GRB will conduct an external evaluation of the SDCNCS project provided to the State of South Dakota. This evaluation will take place over a six month period and consist of survey development, distribution and data analysis.

FFY2013 Commercial Vehicle Safety Plan for South Dakota Department of Public Safety

The GRB will collect, collate, and combine existing data to:

  1. Assist the South Dakota Department of Public Safety (DPS) to determine if it has fulfilled its annual Commercial Vehicle Safety Plan.
  2. Craft a series of short- and long-range goals that build upon the findings from the annual performance assessment.
  3. Author a FFY2013 Commercial Vehicle Safety Plan for DPS.

FFY2013 Highway Safety Plan for South Dakota Department of Public Safety

The GRB will collect, collate, and combine existing data to:

  1. Assist the South Dakota Department of Public Safety (DPS) to determine if it has fulfilled its annual Highway Safety Plan.
  2. Craft a series of short- and long-range goals that build upon the findings from the annual performance assessment.
  3. Author a FFY2013 Highway Safety Plan (HSP) for SDDPS.

FFY2013 Highway Safety Survey for South Dakota Department of Public Safety

The GRB will conduct and analyze a survey of South Dakota's drivers to fulfill NHTSA data requirements and assist in the development of the FFY2013 Highway Safety Plan.

Lutheran Social Services Rural Mentoring Evaluation

The GRB is conducting an outcomes evaluation of a school-based mentoring program administered by Lutheran Social Services of South Dakota. The school-based mentoring program targets students in school districts in Minnehaha County and towns considered to be part of the Sioux Falls MSA, but not in Minnehaha County. The program evaluation is occurring over three years, provides annual deliverables, and offers Lutheran Social Services data that will help it to plan for both the formative elements of the grant program and for the possibility of creating a model program upon which to base subsequent rural mentoring and e-mentoring efforts.

Rapid City Senior Cooperative Master Plan Needs Assessment and Service Gap Analysis

The GRB along with project members from both (1) Sumption and Wyland and (2) Sage Project Consultants, are conducting a community needs assessment and service gaps analysis for the City of Rapid City. The focus of this project will be to identify the most pressing needs of Rapid City's senior community, both presently and for future members of this community. 

University of South Dakota, National Institute of Health Biomedical Research Infrastructure Network Evaluation

The purpose of the evaluation is to assess how well the program develops human resources for undergraduate and graduate programs in the biomedical sciences and bioinformatics by helping to instill a culture of research and provide a pipeline for students interested in biomedical research at South Dakota's predominately undergraduate institutions and tribal colleges.

The GRB will facilitate a strategic planning session for the Department of Public Safety, Office of Homeland Security Fusion Center.

South Dakota Department of Public Safety, Office of Homeland Security Strategic Planning Project

The Government Research Bureau (GRB) at the University of South Dakota is facilitating a strategic planning session for the Office of Homeland Security (OHS) and the Homeland Security Advisory Council to comply with Federal requirements and to assist in making short- and long-term planning decisions.

South Dakota Highway Patrol Strategic Planning

The GRB is facilitating a strategic planning session for the South Dakota Highway Patrol (SDHP) to assist with planning, long-term decision making and performance measurement for SDHP. The GRB is working with identified representatives from SDHP in a strategic planning session to create a new strategic planning document.

University of South Dakota, Exploring the Role of Languages in the Liberal Arts at USD: A First Look

The study examines perceptions of the value of language training at the University of South Dakota and the role of language training in the personal and professions lives of former students of the University.
