My primary research goal is to gain an understanding of how gonadal hormones interact
with monoamine neurotransmitters in the regulation of female sexual behavior. In
addition, I am interested in the neurochemical and ionic basis for the propagation
of spreading depression in the rat caudate. Current work in my laboratory involves the
implementation of in vivo
microdialysis with the future goal of studying hormonal and behavioral effects on
monoamine neurotransmitter release in freely moving animals.
