An important goal of the SD BRIN is to enhance the environment for successful research grant applications from participating faculty. Therefore, participating BRIN faculty are encouraged to apply for travel funds from the SD BRIN office to attent proposal writing workshops or to visit with program officers from external granting agencies.

To apply for these travel funds, a one page proposal is needed describing the purpose and cost of the meeting/visit, the faculty member's previous grant writing experience, and their related professional development in research.

Travel awards will be made at the discretion of the Director and the Selection Committee.
