Finance Program Overview

Mission

We are a community of scholars and practitioners committed to superior undergraduate and graduate business programs accredited by AACSB International. We emphasize excellence in teaching, promote intellectual exchange and development, and advocate continuous learning reflecting a dynamic global environment. Our services deliver value to our students, the university, business disciplines, and society.

Faculty

The finance faculty are of the philosophy that students "learn by doing." Therefore, we provide students with many opportunities to apply the theories they learn in the classroom. We do this by incorporating real-world case studies, trading simulations, management simulations and project assignments into our courses.

Student Organizations

Students gain hands-on experience, meet new friends, and share some fun outside the classroom through participation in student organizations. We encourage students to actively participate in student organizations as an excellent way to develop leadership skills and engage in experiential learning. The finance department offers three student organizations, Financial Management Association (FMA), Coyote Investment Club (CIC) and Coyote Capital Management (CCM), that afford members the opportunity to experience the finance profession as a student at USD.

Scholarships

The Beacom School of Business awards more than $200,000 in awards and scholarships each year. These funds are made available through the generous support of alumni and friends.

Study Abroad

The Beacom School of Business's international program offers you the opportunity to live and study abroad. Business courses taught in many international universities are offered in English so business school students around the world can participate in these courses. You gain both academic experiences and a global perspective on universal issues.
