Finance Program Overview
Faculty
The finance faculty are of the philosophy that students "learn by doing." Therefore, we provide students with many opportunities to apply the theories they learn in the classroom. We do this by incorporating real-world case studies, trading simulations, management simulations and project assignments into our courses. Average class sizes range from 32-35 students.
Student Organizations
Students gain hands-on experience, meet new friends, and share some fun outside the classroom through participation in student organizations. We encourage students to actively participate in student organizations as an excellent way to develop leadership skills and engage in experiential learning. The finance department offers two student organizations, Financial Management Association (FMA) and Coyote Capital Management (CCM), that afford members the opportunity to experience the finance profession as a student at USD.
