Pursuing Master's Degree

Hometown: Cheyenne, WY
Graduation, 2012
Degree/Major:  Bachelor of Business Administration (B.B.A.), Health Services Administration

Professional Profile
Since graduating, I have acquired an internship for the Business and Industry Division of the Wyoming Business Council. I will be pursuing my Master's in Health Administration from the University of Iowa in the Fall of 2012.

Internships
I completed two internships. My first was at the Wyoming Business Council, which is a state economic development agency located in Wyoming. I also completed an internship at the Sanford Medical Center in Vermillion, SD. Both internships prepared me for my future in health administration by providing me the hands-on experiences needed to succeed as an early careerist in the healthcare and business industries. My internships incorporated both basic business and healthcare practices that allowed me to apply coursework taught at USD.

How Did Beacom Prepare Me For Success?
The hands-on projects and coursework gave me the knowledge that I need to be a successful professional in the business world. Additionally, the networking opportunities offered through classes and extracurricular organizations provided me the opportunity to gain an advantage over other business graduates around the country. I am confident that my education and experience garnered from USD will support me as I begin my career. The small class sizes at USD provided ample opportunity for the professors to really interact and form a lasting bond with the students. The professors and staff at Beacom truly made the classroom an inviting and stimulating place to learn.

Advice to Prospective Beacom Students
Take advantage of all the opportunities offered. Join the student organizations, attend the career fairs, and participate in the networking opportunities. These experiences will provide you the knowledge and confidence needed to succeed as an early careerist.
