Professional Profile
I went to work for Wells Fargo & Company in their Education Financial Services division.  While there, I was able to work on some amazing opportunities that allowed me to travel all across the company and work with some great people.  I spent time in Finance, Risk Management, Operations, Strategy and Analytics, and a cross functional business team.  One of my favorite experiences was modeling, valuing, and closing on multi-billion dollar portfolio acquisitions.  I was also lucky enough to work with senior executives across the company on how to make quality decisions, and helped bring forward new business initiatives for the company.

Now I am working in the Corporate Treasury division of Wells Fargo in Minneapolis and attending the Carlson School of Management at the University of Minnesota.  The job is an awesome opportunity to work across the entire corporation and work with exceptionally talented and accredited people.  I am helping the company meet new regulatory standards that came out of the Dodd-Frank regulation.

Internships
I was fortunate enough to spend the summer between my junior and senior years in college interning at Home Federal Bank in Sioux Falls.  Through the course of that summer I was able to get a much deeper understanding of exactly how a community bank worked behind the scenes. I was able to do everything from working with customers, to working in operations, to working in credit.  It was a truly great experience that I still use as a reference point today.

How Did Beacom Prepare Me For Success?
It was a place that allowed me to create life-long relationships, partake in amazing events and organizations, grow as a person, and most importantly, learn how to prepare for the "real world."  I learned what I was good and not so good at.  I also learned how to lead people and an organization, which is a skill that you can never be good enough at or get enough practice.  USD was a perfect, safe, and fun place to do that.  The faculty was always very supportive of students and to this day is always looking for new opportunities for students to partake in.  Whether it is taking a trip to New York City and getting on the floor of the New York Stock Exchange, traveling to see the Oracle of Omaha, Warren Buffet, or participating in a nationwide investment contest, you always know they are trying to give you the best opportunity to succeed when you graduate; something that you don't find very often in life and something that I am still grateful for today.
