Internships
I completed an internship at Avera McKennan Hospital. This internship helped prepare me for my career by allowing me practical experiences in a marketing setting.  It forced me to think on my feet, as well as plan and prepare multiple projects.

How Did Beacom Prepare Me For Success?
By allowing me to develop my network of professionals. It is from these professionals that I have developed many friendships, and that is what ultimately presented me with many of my great opportunities.

The other thing that helped me the most with my career was my involvement in the professional business fraternity of Pi Sigma Epsilon. It was through this organization that I was able to find out who I really was as a business professional.  It gave me opportunities to lead a team, to practice what I was learning in practical settings, and continued growing my network of connections.

The faculty at Beacom were very influential as well.  It was not just teaching for them, it was their dedication and determination for me to succeed that made the difference.  Many of my professors were there outside of the classroom to answer class questions, give me academic guidance on courses I should take, and just to talk to.  It was amazing to me just to see how much they care about me and my career; they got to know who I was as a person, not just another student.

Advice to Prospective Beacom Students?
Get actively involved.  It's as simple as that.  By getting involved you are creating a story that you will be able to talk about in an interview, and that is what many employers are looking for.
