Bio:
Jen Porter earned her B.S. in Health Services Administration in 1993, and her M.B.A. health services administration emphasis in 2004, both from The University of South Dakota. Jen has been teaching as an instructor or adjunct instructor since 2005, with primary teaching interests in long term care administration. Prior to her academic career, Jen was employed with The Good Samaritan Society for over thirteen years. She has over sixteen years of operations and human resources experience in long term care administration spanning the long term care continuum, including nursing home, assisted living, senior housing, home health and hospice services.

A. Working on manuscript preparation with Dr. Roh , et al. – Wellness Study Among Older Persons in South Dakota B. Working with Dr. Soonhee Roh – Mental Health Literacy among Rural Older Adults in South Dakota C. Working with Dr. Haberling and Curt Hohman on research project addressing executive perceptions of the value of undergraduate/graduate health administration degree - Value of an Undergraduate Health Administration Business Degree: Competencies Expected by Potential Employers D. As part of the LeadingAge workforce and talent cabinet, exploring leadership challenges and core competency strategies across the aging services field - extended to Fall 2014
