Grant Leuders“Getting involved is the key to any Beacom student's success. I was in the business fraternity Pi Sigma Epsilon that gave me the connection to my career now.”

I am currently a marketing representative trainee, for Federated Insurance in Owatonna, MN.

Beacom prepared me with superior business knowledge and the most important skill a business person needs, networking. Beacom constantly held events to increase student exposure to networking opportunities like job fairs and on-campus speakers.

In addition to my studies at USD, I was in the business fraternity Pi Sigma Epsilon that gave me the connection to my career now. Getting involved also took me too many different places like San Diego and Germany where I met new and diverse people to further extend my network.

I also had the opportunity to do an internship at Learfield Sports. Learfield is a sports marketing company that works with college athletics and the marketing/sponsorships that come with them. This internship helped me prepare for a career in business to business sales and interpersonal communication.

If you are planning on studying at the Beacom School of Business my advice to you is get involved. Join a business organization, study abroad, go to job fairs. All of these things are at the disposal of every student at Beacom, but the successful ones take advantage of them.

I chose USD because it has a national accreditation for business and affordable.

My favorite part about USD is its great social atmosphere with Midwest friendliness. I was inspired by MicroEconomics with Professor Mike Algrunn. I was able to personally connect with him.

In addition to my studies, I am the president of Pi Sigma Epsilon, co-sector leader for Coyote Capital Management and part of Phi Delta Theta. I also had the opportunity to do internships with Southwestern Advantage and Northwestern Mutual.

My goal for after graduation is to sell financial securities.
