USD’s Center for Academic & Global Engagement (CAGE) provides opportunities for students to volunteer in their local communities or in communities around the country and abroad. You’ll make a valuable contribution to an organization in need, while gaining real-world experience and enriching your college experience.
(Corporation for National and Community Service, 2014)
Students can apply to the Alternative Week of Off-Campus Learning program and provide service for a community in the state, region, country, or even abroad. Trips are scheduled over winter, spring and summer breaks, as well as one weekend a month during the academic year.
You can get involved in service even for a single day! Check out the National Days of Service page for more information.
Visit the Community Partner Database to locate an organization that is looking for volunteers.
Students can receive planning support and funding to help design and implement their own community-based service project. Visit the myUSD portal for more information and to apply.
Need help getting started? The staff at CAGE is here to help! Email firstname.lastname@example.org to schedule an appointment with a staff member who can discuss your options for getting involved in service-learning and community-based projects.
