If you are dealing with a student in distress:

  • If you are concerned for your safety or that of others, call UPD at 605-677-5342 immediately.
  • If the student is causing a disruption to the classroom or office environment but does not pose a threat, discuss the situation with the student to address the inappropriate behavior, and/or ask the student to leave the room

 

Referrals Concerning Disruptive Students


The University Student Handbook outlines the Student Code of Conduct regarding students with disruptive behavior. If a student's conduct is seen as disruptive or dangerous, or if a student is making verbal or physical threats:
