Debra Brockberg, LCSW, CCDC II Program Manager/Clinical Staff Coordinator Debra completed her Bachelor of Science degree in Psychology and Chemical Dependency Counseling at Minnesota State University in Mankato, MN. She later completed her Masters in Social Work from the University of Iowa in Iowa City, IA. Debra began her career as an Alcohol and Drug Counselor later moving into the Social Work profession within a psychiatric hospital setting. She currently maintains her position as Clinical Coordinator of the Student Counseling Center. She is a Licensed Certified Social Worker and a Level II Certified Chemical Dependency Counselor. The one thing she enjoys most about her job is observing and participating in the process of students learning new skills, developing as adults, and succeeding both personally and academically. In her free time she enjoys spending time with her family, attending sporting events, fishing, and traveling. |

Juli Larsen, MS, LMFT, CCDC III Coordinator of AOD Services & Staff Counselor Juli is a licensed marriage and family therapist and a certified chemical dependency counselor at the Student Counseling Center. She received her Bachelors of Science degree in Psychology from North Dakota State University and Masters of Science degree in Marriage and Family Therapy from Nova Southeastern University. She has over fourteen years of experience working with children, adolescents, adults, couples, and families and implements various theories and techniques to meet the needs of the students at USD. |

Connie Birgen, MA, NCC Staff Counselor Connie has a master's degree in Counseling from USD and is currently a doctoral candidate in Counselor Education and Supervision at USD. Connie has been a part of the USD community for more than 20 years. She approaches counseling from a person-centered perspective with the goal of assisting clients in identifying their own unique solutions to life challenges. Connie enjoys yard work, travel, family time, and spending time with her two cats and her puppy. |

Lauren Schuur, BSW Coordinator of Prevention Services Lauren completed her Bachelor of Arts degree in Social Work at the University of Northern Iowa in Cedar Falls, Iowa. She will soon be graduating in May 2013 from the University of Northern Iowa with her Masters in Social Work. Lauren plans on becoming a Licensed Certified Social Worker (LCSW) after graduation. She has worked in group homes, residential facilities, and mental health centers for over 3 years. She has primarily worked with High-Risk youth and teens but is excited for this new career path. Lauren enjoyed her college days and is thrilled to continue her journey on a college campus. Lauren's prevention interests include binge drinking, drug usage, suicide, and relationship violence. In her free time, Lauren enjoys spending time with her family and friends, being outdoors, traveling, and riding her motorcycle. |

Calli Feerer Senior Secretary Calli has her Bachelor's Degree in Earth & Planetary Sciences and Psychology. Calli is originally from Albuquerque where she attended the University of New Mexico and was an active volunteer at the Agora Crisis Center. She has experience as an advocate for victims of domestic violence and is a certified secondary education science teacher. During her time away from work Calli enjoys spending time with her family. Calli is an avid moviegoer, dog enthusiast, and loves to play cards. |

Kyle Wockenfuss VPC Evaluator Kyle is originally from Crete, Nebraska where he earned his Bachelor's Degree in Psychology and History from Doane College. During his time at Doane, Kyle was a member of Psi Chi and Phi Alpha Theta History honors societies. Kyle worked on various research projects and presented many of them at the local and state level. Currently, Kyle is finishing his Master's Degree in Counseling at USD. He plans to pursue his Doctorate in Counseling in the Fall of 2013. He also works part time as a counselor-in-training in South Sioux City and is working towards licensure. Kyle's research interests include social perceptions of marginalized groups, male gender roles, and counseling of children. Personally, he enjoys working out, travel, reading, his family and friends, and Spicy Garlic Buffalo Wild Wings. |
