The Premedical Chapter of AMSA is part of a large, student governed, national organization dedicated to representing the concerns of future physicians. With a membership of more than 68,000 premedical and medical students, interns, residents, and practicing physicians from across the country, AMSA continues its commitment to improving the nation's health and medical training. The goal of our chapter is to educate, initiate interest, and raise awareness about the condition of healthcare and medical training in South Dakota and in the US as a whole, and to assist in the improvement and understanding of world health problems.

Our chapter is open to all premedical students who wish to become part of a vital force of future physicians who believe that patients and health professionals are partners in the management of health care and that access to high-quality health care is a right and not a privilege.
