Living-Learning Communities (LLCs) are residence hall communities formed around a common academic or co-curricular focus that are partnered with a USD academic or student services department. Because of this shared focus, students living in an LLC typically find friends with common interests quicker, succeed better in their academic pursuits, and are more likely to complete their degree.
There are several available LLCs on-campus at USD:
Gender Neutral Housing
- University Housing offers gender neutral housing (GNH) to residents who are interested in rooming with another student regardless of gender. GNH is a step by the University to promote an environment of inclusive excellence within the on campus community. This campus housing option offers desirability to students who: 1) are in the process of discovering their gender identity, 2) may feel more comfortable living with someone of a different gender, 3) choose not to be classified based on gender, 4) identify and/or support the LGBTQQIAA community, 5) wish to participate in GNH for other personal reasons.
