Information for Employers
The University of South Dakota Career Development Center offers many services to connect you with students, faculty and alumni. We look forward to partnering with you and creating a tailored, individualized recruitment strategy for your company.
As you consider the extraordinary talent at The University of South Dakota, here are a few fast facts about us:
° USD offers over 100 undergraduate degrees and over 50 graduate degree programs.
° Of our 2007 May graduates, 93% went on to obtain employment or pursue graduate school within their field. The average starting salary for these graduates was $33,600.
° Thirty-six percent of the May graduates who were employed located their position through internships or previous employment. Additional information on the benefits of internships is available from the National Association of College and Employers or Inside Recruiting.

Services we provide include:
1. On-campus recruiting: If you would like to visit campus to preview the talent at USD or interview students, please complete the online Campus Visit Request Form. You may also e-mail or call us (605-677-5307). We are happy to arrange your accommodations and market your opportunities to students. Click here for a campus map and list of area hotels. Food service accommodations can be arranged through ucatering. Campus parking is free during your visit.
2. Full-time Job & Internship postings: Employers may e-mail their positions to the Career Development Center and we will post it on our e-recruiting system, Coyote Careers. If you would like to post job openings on a regular basis or view students' credentials, you may request access to this system at Coyote Careers. This provides the opportunity to post positions, review students' resumes and create interview schedules remotely from your home or office. There is no charge to employers for these services.
3. Part-time or temporary opportunities: The Career Development Center will post your part-time, summer, or temporary positions for you on our website. If you are interested in this service, please complete the employee request form or e-mail us at cdc@usd.edu.
4. Job Fairs: USD sponsors several job fairs throughout the academic year. Our fall fair will be held on Thursday, October 16, 2008. Thank you to the employers who attended the 2007 event. In the spring, we collaborate with the South Dakota Career Planning and Placement Association (SDCPPA) to sponsor job fairs throughout the state. For information on these events, please visit SDCPPA.
5. Connect with Student Organizations: Many student groups are interested in having employers share information with their organization. If you are interested in this option, please contact us. A list of over 100 student organizations at USD is available here.
6. Connect with Faculty: Faculty are eager to connect with you and share your opportunities with students. If their class schedule permits, many will also invite you to share information with their students in the classroom. Please let us know if you are interested in sending faculty information or if you would like to schedule a visit with faculty members during an upcoming recruiting trip. We are happy to help you connect with the departments that best fit your company.
7. Student Newspaper Advertisements: Some employers also choose to advertise openings in the Volante, the University's student newspaper. For more information, please contact our office or visit the Volante.
