Big Data Summer Program
The University of South Dakota has partnered with Eagle Creek Software Services and InfiniteIQ Consulting to develop an innovative learning experience which prepares individuals for the workforce needs of and potential employment with Eagle Creek and InfiniteIQ. Eagle Creek is a consulting company that helps customers maximize software investments to improve efficiencies and quality while managing price and risk. InfiniteIQ Consulting is a company that enables customers to leverage scalable, economical and modern toolsets based on the Big Data technology ecosystem. By partnering with InfiniteIQ, we greatly reduce customer's risk of Big Data exploration and implementation and accelerate their time to true business intelligence and analytics.
The Big Data Summer Program efficiently sequences four graduate courses over an 8 week period to prepare participants for an IT-related profession in the business practice frequently called Big Data.

InfiniteIQ resources provide domain expertise to companies in the Financial Services, Transaction Processing, Travel, Health Care and Energy sectors, however, solutions are not limited to these vertical markets. InfiniteIQ leverages its deep experience in enterprise technology management and data systems to provide a structured and repeatable framework for Big Data technology exploration, implementation, and integration.
How Does the Program Work?
- Students will apply to USD for the Summer program. Eagle Creek and InfiniteIQ will review application materials, interview materials, and select participants to enter the Big Data Summer Program.
- Students will complete the (4) required courses and gain in-depth knowledge and skills in the professional area of: Data Systems, Data Querying & Preparation, Data Science & Analytics and Deriving Knowledge from Data at Scale. There is free tuition for qualifying students.
- Students who successfully complete the certificate program will qualify for a final interview which could lead to employment with Eagle Creek and Infinite IQ Consulting.
USD is in the process of developing a M.S. program in Analytics. When this program is approved, coursework from this summer certificate program will transfer towards requirements for M.S. program.
