Program Overview:

The online Master of Arts in Interdisciplinary Studies (MAIS) degree at the University of South Dakota is designed to allow flexibility in program design and course selection. One of the unique elements of the degree is that students design their own program of study in tandem with their advisor based on 2-3 disciplines to meet personal and professional goals.

Admission Requirements:

Applicants to the online MAIS must have earned a baccalaureate degree from an accredited college or university. The baccalaureate cumulative grade point average must be at least a 2.7 on a 4.0 scale. Students with less than a 2.7 grade point average may be admitted provisionally.

Applicants must submit the following:

  • Completed Graduate Application
  • $35 non-refundable application fee
  • Statement of Purpose explaining desired disciplines and program goals
  • 3 letters of recommendation
  • Resume
