The Division of Continuing & Distance Education provide a variety of testing services for on-campus, off-campus and distance students:

Testing Center Hours:

The Division of Continuing & Distance Education in Vermillion, SD:
Monday - Thursday: 8:00 a.m. - 7 p.m.
Friday: 8:00 a.m. - 5 p.m.

CLEP Testing Hours:
Monday - Friday: 10:00 a.m.. - 5 p.m.

ACT Residual Testing Hours:
Monday - Friday: 10:00 a.m. - 5 p.m.

The Testing Center is located in McKusick Room 201.

How to schedule an appointment:

Please schedule 48 hours in advance or a week in advance for midterms and finals.  Spots are filling up quickly.

To make an appointment, call 1-800-233-7937 or email us at cde@usd.edu.

Please include:  Class number (Example: PHGY-230), Teacher's name, Exam number, Student's name, Phone number, and ID number. 

Photo ID:

Remember to bring your photo ID.  Students without a photo ID will not be permitted to take the test.  No exceptions allowed.

Acceptable Photo ID:

  • Student ID
  • Driver's License or government issued ID card
  • Passport
On Campus Courses:

Math Emporium and on campus math courses are not required to make an appointment.  However, if you would like to reserve a spot, you are welcome to do so.  Give yourself at least an hour or more to take the test.  Please do not come in less than fifty minutes before closing.

Prohibited Items:

Prohibited Items must be stored in your bag or with the proctor.

They Include:

  • Cell phones and any other electronic devices
  • Food and drink
  • Notes (unless specifically allowed by your instructor)
  • Textbooks
  • Dictionaries and other aids
  • Hat and Hoods

Monday - Thursday: 7:30 a.m. - 6 p.m.
Friday: 8 a.m. - 5 p.m.

University Center - Sioux Falls:
Monday - Thursday: 8 a.m. - 10 p.m.
Friday: 8 a.m. - 5 p.m.
Saturday 8 a.m. - 4 p.m.
