Purpose
The University of South Dakota School
Psychology Program provides assessment and therapeutic services,
training for students enrolled in the program, new knowledge in
the field of school psychology through research, and serves as a
resource for the community. Clients
have access to numerous advantages offered by the University setting.
These advantages include the availability of faculty for consultation
and supervision and observation facilities for training and monitoring
of the quality of services by students.
Faculty Supervision
Client services are provided by Specialist
in Education (Ed.S.) and Doctoral (Ph.D.) students and their faculty
supervisors. The school psychology faculty are certified or licensed
school psychologists .
Facilities
The School Psychology Program is
housed in the School of Education within the Division of Counseling
and Psychology in Education. Parking for clients is available
in the parking lot on the South side of Delzell Hall.
Fees
Individuals receiving services are
charged a minimum of $100.00 per evaluation.
Contributions
Contributions and gifts to the School
Psychology Program allow the program to provide scholarship support
for clients who otherwise would be unable to afford services and
to provide services and student learning opportunities not otherwise
available within the University budget. Such gifts and contributions
are greatly appreciated.
Services

Because of the special needs of infants
and toddlers, a developmental assessment of children O to 3 years

in play.
Psychological Assessment and Therapy
Psychological assessment services
address affective, intellectual, educational, adaptive, social,
and perceptual-motor aspects of functioning. Therapeutic services
for school-related problems are also provided.
Consultation Services
Consultation is offered to schools
and professionals in the community on an as needed basis.

Diagnostic and therapeutic services
are available to children of preschool, elementary, and secondary
school age, and their families. Diagnostic services for college
students are also available. Referrals are accepted from clients,
