University of South Dakota Dance Team SPOOKTACULAR COMPETITION

Dear Dance Team,

We are pleased to invite you to participate in the 10^th Annual University of South Dakota Dance Team Competition to be held at the Vermillion High School on Saturday, October 20, 2007. The competition will begin at 10:00 am. This competition is strategically placed early in the season to benefit your team. This is an excellent opportunity for both sanctioned and unsanctioned high school, middle school and club teams, to gain useful feedback to help with your competition routines.

The following rules will apply to the USD competition.

-Sanctioned Teams will follow the South Dakota Activities Association Competitive dance team rules.

-Unsanctioned teams will follow these rules:

1) Each routine has a maximum of 3 minutes on the floor, including entrance and exit.

2.) All routine music must be burned onto a CD.

3.) All solos and small groups may be up to 2 minutes long.

There will be five dance categories this year: pom, jazz, hiphop/funk, high kick and open. The class divisions will be determined by the number of teams participating. The registration fee is $50 per routine. In addition to the team competition, there will a solo and small group competition. The cost is $25 per solo routine and $30 per small group.  All dance team, solo and small group registration forms and fees are due, no later than September 30^th, 2007.
