Faces of Diversity

Diversity enhances our lives and makes them richer. Valuing diversity means recognizing that individuals are different and that these differences are an advantage to everyone if they are accepted, understood, valued, nurtured, and utilized. Valuing diversity also means changing behavior and systems to nurture the richness of these differences.

All members of the University community are encouraged and empowered to explore and develop their uniqueness while learning to recognize and appreciated our interrelatedness. USD is committed to creating an inclusive and welcoming environment, conducive to the exploration and discovery of diversity, because we recognize that such an environment is an essential part of the teaching and learning process.
