PSYC 749/788:
This course will teach students skills in 1) assessing and diagnosing adult mental health outpatients, using standardized testing and structured diagnostic interviews; and 2) conducting treatment with anxiety- and mood-disordered patients using a cognitive-behavioral psychotherapy orientation. Students will learn how to complete appropriate psychological reports and other required paperwork. Additional topics relevant to mental health assessment and treatment will be covered as well. This course will involve formal (lecture-based) didactic training, as well as less formal group and individual supervision.
