Mark A. Baron is a professor of educational administration and chair of the Division of Educational Administration within the School of Education at The University of South Dakota.  He received his B.A. in biology from the University of Maryland, M.Ed. in secondary education from Towson University, and M.A. and Ph.D. in educational adminsitration from The University of Alabama.  He has published nearly 20 articles in national and international professional journals and authored three books related to effective instruction for K-12 learners, all available from Rowman & Littlefield Publishing:

Performance-Based Education: Developing Programs Through Strategic Planning (2008)

Outcome-Based Education: Developing Programs Through Strategic Planning (1996)

Authentic Assessment: The Key to Unlocking Student Success (1995)

  His teaching interests include educational research design and methodology, statistical analysis, secondary school administration, instructional supervision, and curriculum leadership.  His consulting experience includes data collection and analysis, program evaluation, and educational leadership.
