Welcome to the Division of Health, Physical Education and Recreation (HPER) at The University of South Dakota.
The Division of HPER offers comprehensive professional preparation programs at both the undergraduate and graduate levels. Coursework in health, physical education, recreation and coaching lead to degrees supportive of careers in both school and non-school settings.
Reflective decision makers are skilled individuals whose leadership, practice and decisions draw upon the best available theory, research and experiential wisdom. Reflective decision making engages individuals in cycles of thought and action based on theoretical, ethical and professional knowledge. The Division of Health, Physical Education and Recreation is committed to preparing leaders who are reflective decision makers in its professional preparation program.
