Bachelor of Science in Recreation Management

Work, leisure and recreation are inter-related constructs that are integral to the quality of human life.  The study of the field of Parks and Recreation encompasses activities ranging from aerobics, arts and crafts, and performing arts, to camping, outdoor  recreation and sports. Recreation professionals plan, organize, budget and direct these and other activities in local playgrounds, community centers, parks (local, state and national), private, quasi-public and voluntary organizations (e.g. YMCA's, Boy's and Girl's Clubs), health clubs, fitness centers, religious organizations, camps, theme parks, and tourist attractions.  Increasingly, these professionals are found in the workplace where they organize and direct leisure activities, athletic programs and fitness activities for employees of all ages.
