| Developing Quality Educators Through Collaboration | The University of South Dakota and participating school districts are joint participants in supporting yearlong internships and mentorships that assist new teachers' entry into the teaching profession and provide ongoing professional development for experienced teachers. |
| Graduate Program | Each new teacher and mentor teacher take graduate coursework while participating in the program. In the 15 month program new teachers will complete a master's degree and mentor teachers will acquire 32-36 hours toward an advanced degree. The participants are granted a 2/3 reduction in in-state tuition for on-campus classes and new teachers are given a stipend of $14,000. Mentor teachers receive their regular pay. |
| Applications And Requirements |
Application materials available USD Graduate School. Complete applications and return to School of Education. Applications will be reviewed by selected divisions and applicants will be notified of acceptance into a graduate program.
