The Reading Recovery Training Center at USD
More than 46,600 children have benefited from specialized reading instruction provided by Reading Recovery Teachers and Teacher Leaders who are affiliated with The University of South Dakota Regional Reading Recovery Training Center. These teachers and teacher leaders work in schools in Iowa, Minnesota, Nebraska, North Dakota, and South Dakota. Reading Recovery is a highly successful research-based intervention that supplements classroom instruction. It is designed for the lowest achieving students in first grade. In this short-term intervention, highly trained teachers conduct daily one-to-one lessons with the most at-risk students. Reading Recovery's success has been demonstrated in a wide range of educational settings.
