ESCI 101
Professor Timothy H. Heaton

This course is called Principles of Earth Science I, or Physical Geology, and is the first course in the Earth Science general education laboratory sequence at USD. It is also required of Earth Science majors. At least one section is taught every Fall and Spring semester. Most students go on to take Principles of Earth Science II, or Historical Geology, for which this is a prerequisite.

Each student should be registered for a lab section. Labs meet once a week on Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday in AK 209. Be sure to be in attendance each week with your lab manual. Dr. Mark Sweeney is also teaching this course and has his own home page.

Welcome new students!

Labs begin the second week of classes. Before going to your first lab you need to log into Desire 2 Learn and print out the first lab exercise. Follow the instructions in the exercise and take it with you to lab.
