We discussed several topics including Tee-Shirts, Recycling, a Field trip, a fundraiser and helping out in a Science Olympia. This will be help Saturday April 1st on campus. We will need at least 3 participants to supervise middle-high school aged students while they identify rocks and minerals. We will also need some people to prepare the "Test" which will include a few of the more simple rocks and minerals from the 101 lab.
Tee Shirts- We decided on the Dr. J design. Although it is not completely finalized, it will feature a caricatured drawing of Dr. J on the back and a logo on the front that will either be "G." or "Geology Club est. 4.6 bya.
Recycling: the Pepsi guy will be dropping off the bins sometime this week.
Field trip: We will be going to the hills the weekend of April 28th-30th. Kay has agreed to allow us to use her cabin and will use her contacts to get us free access to Jewel cave. We will also be doing a hike at either little devil's tower or Harney Peak. Geology club funds will be used to help cover the cost of gas, but we will need to carpool in our own vehicles. Participants will need to bring a towel for showering and a sleeping bag. If you want to go you will need to e-mail Lucy by Friday March 17th.
The Disc Golf Tournament is still in planning but is scheduled for Saturday of earth science week (the 22nd of April).
