My background includes a successful career in the private sector, including business ownership and labor market consulting, so I have a very practical approach to learning and career readiness.
I sincerely believe every student can become a better writer with commitment to the process, hard work, and encouragement from a teacher who believes in his or her potential. In addition to Composition, I am passionate about teaching African American literature, American Novels and Short Stories, Folklore, and Business Communications.
My research interests include mass media history and trends, pedagogical effectiveness for developmental educational courses, and service learning strategies.
