Prairie Family Business Association.Helping family businesses in South Dakota.
Professional Advisors

Many advisory firms who work with family businesses are very proficient in their trade. Attorneys, accountants, insurance professionals, financial advisors, business consultants and others play a critical role in assisting business to flourish. Yet, working with family businesses requires uniquely different strategies and understanding, than that required of publicly held and even privately held non-family firms.

Becoming a member of the Association at the Professional Advisor level gives you access to education that centers on family business dynamics. The best "text-book" plans are ill-suited to family firms when the family system is not adequately considered. By joining the Association in a Professional Advisors status can facilitate a better-understand of the unique challenges of family business, and aid to competently serve their family business clientele. Professional Advisor membership entitles two members of the firm the following benefits:

  1. A standard listing in the Membership Directory : Professional Members section
  2. Member rates to all Association events throughout the year.
  3. Participation in Study Group (two associates can participate)
  4. Subscription to the Prairie Family Business Newsletter.
  5. Access to the Family Business Resource Library.
  6. Access to USD School of Business resources including faculty and research.
  7. Opportunities for life-long learning, including the Prairie Family Business Conference and local workshops.

A Professional Advisor membership is available for an annual contribution of $500. Additional professionals of the same firm can receive Professional Advisor benefits for an additional $200 per person.

Please note:

The Family Business Association provides educational opportunities for its members.
