Campus Beautification

Responsive to its obligation to enrich the aesthetic life of the University and Vermillion communities as a whole, the University Art Galleries operates an active on-campus program of beautification.

A notable example of the project is historic Old Main, which houses 100 vintage paintings from the University Permanent Collection.

The University Art Galleries has engaged in the beautification of the campus environment by sponsoring, or assisting with, 16 public arts projects, including the commission of works for the I.D. Weeks Library, the National Music Museum, the Shakespeare Garden, the Beacom School of Business, the Commons, Dakota Hall, Slagle Hall and the Muenster University Center. In addition, over 400 works from the University Permanent Collection are displayed across campus through our loan program.
